MOD50 for church worship services

I've just ordered a MOD50 - 2-1x12 cabs -vx and MGH modules to use in our Sunday morning worship services. I cant wait to rock da house and kick in the MHG for the song choruses making them huge and also to compliment our great sounding 1958 vintage B3.

The chuch is A frame, wood, high cieling structure designed to carry voices via a choir not rocknroll and can get reverberant quickly.

I understand that the egnater sounds huge at low volumes, but has anyone ever put cabnet in a soundproof box to crank the amp in a live situation?

I've been using my Mod50 w/VX and EG5 at my local church for 3 months or so now. We play in different places periodically and the Mod50 sounds great in all of them. I did notice that in a traditional chapel, the EG5 was a little bright so the MHG should be perfect for that. I haven't tried the soundproof cabinet thing though, but I'm interested to hear how it works out for you.

I am also gonna try one of the Palmer PDI series Speaker cab simulators if it gets too loud.

Have you found the MOD50 to still sound large at lower volumes?

The Mod50 has a great MV on it, but I tend to run it high and control volume with the module volumes. Our band actually plays kinda loud. I usually have the MV at 1 o'clock all the time and then I dial the modules to taste. The VX A Channel, I dime the volume and use the gain as a master. The rest of the module's volumes are at noon or less depending on volume needs. I find opening the MV up a little and dialing the modules back gives me a more dynamic sound. We haven't been asked to go to reduced or zero stage volume yet. It may come in the future, but for now we are rockin' out

I would highly recommend you considering switching that MHG for a EG5. It sits much better in the mix.
