allright,

i want to change presets on my timefactor thru my mod50. no problem of course. BUT ...

i want to keep it on my pedalboard, and i don't want to run a separate midi cable from the amp to it (too many cables already), AND ... i still want the 7-pin to power my eggie footswitch.

what would be the best solution?

i used to keep all my loop effects in a separeate rack or case back with the head, and did all the switching thru midi, but now i want both the preset switching capability, while having the option to go wild with the knobs and tap tempo in real time.

what would you guys do?

.

plug the footswitch into the timefactor, and the timefactor into the mod50 ?? if it doesn't pass phantom power to the midi in, mod it.. its like a 10 second mod.

I don't understand the dilemma? Please clarify???

thanks guys.

i want to use only one long midi cable from amp to pedal board, but switch channels on the amp AND presets on the timefactor. what can i do on my pedal board to achieve this? a splitter box, some special y-cable, run stuff in series

will casey's suggestion work? i guess it's easy to find out :bash: but my rig is at the rehersal space and i want to research the options until i get there in a few days.

i'm a dumbass, so what would the 10 sec mod to the TF be? would there be any problems with running the 7-pin cable into the TF (since it passes power, or whatever. i'm telling you, i play stuff, i don't build it  )

my suggestion will work if the timefactor passes phantom power from the thru to the midi in, if not you'll need to bridge the pins passing power (which is the 10 second mod), or power the egnater footswithc through other means.

Just power the pedal with a "wall wart" on your pedal board. If you don't want to modify your TF, you (or someone) could make a special adapter cable or box that would allow you to pass the midi pedal power "around" the TF.

thanks bruce and casey,

i guess i need 1000mA DC to power the footswitch. right?

considering there is no display on the footswitch at all, i figure the current draw would be less than 100mA.. not sure though, bruce will have to confirm that. i'd try to power it up with a pedalpower 2 if you have one, it'll probably go.

Thanks Casey.

I use a Burkey Flatliner SIX, which takes care of all things pedal for me.
It has 6 isolated and regulated outlets, all adjustable in steps to 9, 12, 15 or 18VDC each @ 100 mA.
Hope that will work, since i don't want another wart or so on my pedal board (the Timefactor needs one ...).

Would be great to know.

Bruce, Jeff?

The Pedal power 2 will definitely work. I had mine hooked up like that for a while.
