I'm getting ready to order a MOD50, most likely with the EG5 or MHG for OD and DLX for cleans and some SRV grit. Am I on the right track for a nice clean and an AIC modern rock guitar tone?
I liked the indoor storm clips of the DLX vs. the Bman, twin and vox the best and MHG was cool, but the EG5 has my interest piqued for a SLO/heavy rock type of tone.
Recommendations?

I live in NC and will talk to Indoor Storm about an order, but I'd like to not pay sales tax. Could I just call Egnater direct and get the same prices and no sales tax?

Thanks

Ya you are right on with your modules choices. I would suggest for a first timer  to order the SL2 instead of the EG5 or MHG. Why, cause it is the foundation module. The others are very cool but I believe must be added after you get set with the SL2 and a clean module.
T/D will be a nice clean headroom channel and nice breakup channel. The Bassman will do that and then give you the SRV tone you want. The Vox is a vox and not really a clean amp.

Either way your going to again have the foundation modules and then can go on the checkbook rampage later

It really doesn't matter which one modules you get with the amp. You will love them and want to buy more :)

I agree with Jarrett. Youll always want more because they all sound too friggen good.

I wont have my EG5 until tomorrow, but I really doubt it will unseat the SL2 as my go-to default high gain module. That thing is just thick, big, and dynamic. Just a huge sound. The SL2 really is a must have. And in a band mix its just monsterous.

T/D and SL2 is my main live rig. So many tones, so little time...

Good advice from Jeff, the SL2 is a great place to start at ground zero. Then you can add darker and brighter flavors later.
