My friend Tim B. just put this together in 2 days and is going to be the first track of his solo project. He is an incredible player and plays everythng from county to metal and has been doing session work and gigging for quite a while. I am really excited not only because he is a killer player, and the recording was done with my 50 watt modded Marshall JMP. It's based of the Bogner Fish strato channels with some addtional tweaks in the tones stack and power section.

The note at 2:58 on the soundclick sounds very cool.

nice

I'm having an amp built by a friend and one of its channels is similar to the fish strato too

and I just bought a 50w JMP that's going to be heavily modded

Do mean that Skid Row type harmonic thingy or the crazy multi note note wah and whammy shaking thingy  :D

That amp sounds wicked man! Very nice job!

Thanks man!

The long singing note at 2:58. It just fills out.

sounds very different from my '77 JMP 50w Mk2
what did you tweak in the power amp?
I got a similar mod, but more like a mix of the Strato and Shark channels, but without the scooped shitty EQ section of the Shark, and a few tweaks to cut fizz and radio interference between the gain stages and in the phase inverter plates
sounds good, but a bit too gainy, compressed, tight and trebly
like a thrash metal version of the Shiva
I think I'll ask my friend to swap the gain pot for a lower value and reduce the first plate resistor
maybe bigger coupling caps for the phase inverter
it also has a spare preamp tube socket and a few extra holes in the chassis, that I may use for a modern channel and some switches

very cool. did you mod your jmp yourself?
yes, I have been tweeking this one for several years, but it has stayed this way longer than anything else I have done to it. I't basically a new turret board in there.

Very late to the party....sitting here working today and checking out all the chops I have missed....killer clip dude!!! I really dig your buddies chops and killer sounding amp for sure!
