I have a 5150-III 6l6 50 watt and play thru one EVH 1x12 cab. I've considered getting a second to enhance the sound a bit. For any 1x12 cab owners, do you stack them on top of each other, lay them side by side or separate them by several feet?

Also, does a second 1x12 add to the sound and a good investment?

Just next to each other . I've got 8 ohm speakers in there so I use a Radial Cab Link with the Splawn and Blackstar Amp 1 . I can't say it's a world of difference running the two cabs . It does sound really good with just one cab but if can use two I'm gonna lol . Right now the Splawn pictured is sitting on my 2x12 in my avatar and the Splawn in my Avatar I'm using with the two 1x12s . That would be sweet getting another EVH 1x12 for your rig

Stack 'em!

this was my old set up, two 1x12 "stacks" in stereo ...... sounded HUGE ... I really miss this rig (although not from a moving it around and setting it up stand point haha). I always preferred then stacked..but in this rig they were "diagonal" so the white cabs are into the white head etc, this help blend both heads better so there was no left/right thing happening

That seems to be what people are saying that it is not a huge difference but I'm sure it helps a bit.

Did you get one yet?
Oh yeah man, I've had my P2 V2 for a few weeks. Such a great amp! I am playing it thru the 5150-III 1x12 cab right now but need to spend more time trying it thru the Friedman 1x12. I let my stepson have the JJ. Jr. so he is using the Friedman 1x12 with it.

I don't know if I should get a second EVH or Friedman 1x12. Would sound cool to mix the two.

Definitely a price difference, but I prefer the low end and character of the Creamback.

What are you using to blend the amps presumably at same time since it’s a blend?

just a standard ABY foot switch to run both heads in stereo ... the "blend" is X ing the cabs

👍🏼. Always interested in how people blend amps (heads/preamps etc). I personally don’t do a w/d/w with mine. I blend 3 amps with a Lehle ABY pedal. No phase issues for me with the Lehle. I have wondered, since I have not tried, what the real w/d/w would be like. One day I’ll try

Yeah, I rhino ir is about $300? With thst said though, the Friedman does sound "bigger" although not like a night and day thing.

I was thinking I may get another 1x12 to give my stepson and steal the Friedman back and use it with the EVH 1x12. Have more cut of the EVH with Friedman bottom end.

Buy a Thiele off LPfreak! I could have easily gone with 2 of those, but I really wanted to try the Creambacks, having Greenbacks in a 4x12 for the last 4 or 5 years. The PT really sounds killer with those 2 cabs. It's a badass little amp.

I have never done W/D/W mainly because I have never been that fussy about delays and stuff being a certain way. I have run W/D and it was great but because I don't use many effects it was a bit pointless, where as the blending of 2 different amp tones and one having a tiny bit of delay/phaser etc just works better ... I now run a stereo pre amp (one side is a randall satan and the other side is 5150i/5150ii .. no aby needed) which goes into 2 cabs through a poweramp with no effects and I run my Boss katana in stereo with that into a 3rd cab .... sounds frikken insane

Run 2 112s about every way you could think of, stacking is the most common for me. I did put the head on one and had the other leaning back s a monitor, that worked really well.
