Hey. Does anybody have some good EQ settings on the Diezel VH4 to get a sound similar to Matt Bellamys??

Another question, i have not had the chance to try out the new G major 2's as of yet, has anybody had any experience with them? I guess the main thing i would like to know is whether there is any tone loss while using the unit.

Cheers in advance

I don't know, but Knights of Cydonia is a fucking masterpiece of a song.

Difficult to say really, he uses so much fuzz, I'd say the hard part is getting the Fuzz Factory settings right.

he only uses fuzz for 2 or 3 songs live plug in baby and super massive. Most of his other stuff is the vh4 best muse tone ever citizens erased on his 7 string channel 3 on the vh4 out of this world !!! I cant dial any tone in at the min lol me vh4 is giving me problems.

On the album he has some wicked tones but to be blunt, live, I think his tones abit rubbish at times, like @ Wembley, the outro to Stockholm Syndrome... just my opinion :student:

However, Matt = :worship:

yup i agree seems to work though you should listen to hullabaloo and dead star really good tone and i think it's a marshall but still really good

Yeah i agree. His live tone lately isn't too good, I think its down to the pickups he uses. They sound too weak for the songs that he uses them for. His absolution tone was by far the best.

Yeh sorry i didnt mean the bareknuckles - they are great. Hysteria just doesn't sound good at all through a p90 imo

I've got all the albums man  Dead Star = an absolutely crushing tone

Here's a pic of his amps. You can vauguely tell the settings on the vh4. I think he only uses channel 3/4 on the vh4, and uses the plexi head for lighter crunch and the ac30 for his cleans.

All of his old sounds (hullabaloo), Origin of symmetry, Showbiz, and deadstar are all on a Marshall DSL although it sounds like he's using something like a muff in conjunction with the Marshall for the studio version of Deadstar.

I'm a huge Muse fan and I dig his live tones these days. I actually have one of the Egnater modular amps, and I'm hoping Bruce comes out with a Diezelesque module. Sadly I don't have the space or money for another amp.

didnt expect them settings channel 3 and 4 are almost the same as james hetfield

Wow! Very interesting pictures.

I have almost identical pot positions (except ch 1.) in my VH4, but I do not consider my sound to resemble Mat's sound at all. So, I strongly believe that the sound is not that much from the VH4 itself.

By the way, I truly love his tones and innovative playing - Just not exactly my tone.

I think a lot of his tone comes from the nailbomb pickups. He doesn't use the fuzz as much as people think he does.

I get a pretty convincing Stockholm Syndrome sound with my PRS CU24 w/nailbomb in the bridge + 50w Einstein on Ch2 and my settings in a very similar position as his ch4 settings.

That tone is why I crave a Diezel.
