What is up with these? Are they guitars Music123 painted themselves? Are they European models that are sold in the States? Are they painted by the company and specially given to Music123 through some sort of weird deal?

no... they just ordered enough to change the spec a bit.

Any dealer that orders a few hundred guitars can get them made one-off to their own specs. Centre City I believe has some things like this.

I like the faded Flying V Music123 has because it's faded black instead of red like the original ones.
