well, ordered some gear that was needed for a gig this Saturday night from musicians friend last Thursday. wasn't picked Friday, nor Tuesday, not Wednesday, and now on Thursday I find that it MAY go out today.
Speak to some snot nosed manager named Ian L. who gets pretty uppity with me, and says that the only thing he can do is cancel my order and re book it, and if they get no more of my business then so be it. "you do what you have to do sir" was his response. :gethim:
The letter to management goes out this afternoon, the least I can do for this particular pissant is to make a nice complaint against him for his employee record. :D
One more example of how now that they are being brought private they no longer care about customer satisfaction.
I was already using Gallo guitars for most of my needs, now Sam Ash will get the business he cant cover.

i hate mf...have for a while now. hate music123.com too. oh well, the list goes on and on.

If you're really desperate to get stuff there quickly try samedaymusic.com, I ordered a guitar from them a couple years ago, never had any problems :)

thanks for the heads up

I don't fuck with MF at all. I have a card for like 7 years now and have not used it since. These fuck sticks are renowned for not delivereing on time and fucking up an order.

I personally prefer American Musical and Sam Ash.

I have bought one item from them. The DSL silver edition. They beat every GC price I negotiated and shipped it to my house within 2 days FREE. I KNOW I got lucky......

They've had quite a few problems since moving to a new warehouse earlier this summer. I just canceled two-orders with them because they couldn't ship before the " no interest for a year" offer ended on 31AUG. Sweetwater offers good service but doesn't carry all the muso stuff that MF offers. I've had good luck with American Musical Supply. They offer a free three-pay plan over a certain $.

I hate Sam Ash with a passion, so I only use AMS.

They're pretty cool. I returned something I didn't like, and even though it was a close out item, and I almost forgot I meant to send it back and had it about 45 days since I got it (so it was probably gone like 60 days starting from when they shipped it to me), they still took it, and put it up as a scratch and dent item even cheaper yet, but refunded me all 100% of what I paid, no questions asked.

Zzounds and Same Day Music are the same thing, but for some reason, just AMS will let you choose to do 3-5 (sometimes more) monthly payments at check out, without having to apply for some stupid credit card.

Sweetwater is also cool. They do free shipping without any minimum purchase requirement. Also, their catalogs are freaking ginormous and beats the shit out of anyone else's, at least to me, since it's mostly high end recording stuff, which no one else is real big on.

They're the same thing now, unfortunately.

A long time ago I heard MF/GC was supposed to buy out Sam Ash, as well. I don't know if that was just completely incorrect, or it was confused with Music 123/Woodwind & Brasswind, or what, but that'd suck. They're a monopoly as it is, and Sam Ash doesn't put up shit for competition.

Music123/Woodwind and Brasswind are now part of MF/GC.

I have long avoided MF, to me they are the walmart of music shops.

Zzounds has been pretty good to me. Sweetwater sound as well.

Its pretty sad the state of customer service, it just continues to go down all around, at least that is what I notice.
