MXR flanger/doubler

anyone have any experience with these? is the doubler any different than a delay?
 
Haven't tried one personally. I think it was a fairly key component to Dimebag's live tone though. I think he had a slight doubling effect on his tone when playing live, fattened the tone up a bit. It's not like a delay, it's not gonna echo the signal.

yah, im reading a guitar world interview with his guitar tech and he says that was the biggest key to his tone and that he left it on all the time.
 
I have one of the blue face Flanger/Doubler's and the thing just
kills.....awesome Flanger and the Doubler is really cool,not only for
a guitar rig but can be a great addition for vocals out front. It does
take a little time to get the sound you want, but if you're not care-
ful the regeneration will actually pull the guitar or vocal out of tune!
 
Sorry,I should have read your post again! Yes,a Doubler is going
to sound differant than a delay.........
