I'm new to recording so I apologize up front for the lack of quality.

This is a 2007 Strat with a Seymour Duncan '59 in the bridge position straight into my Metroamp. The cab is a Marshall 4x12 with 1993 Made in England Celstion G12M-25 greenbacks.

Just some VH noodling, a test of the intro to Mean Street, the Mean Street solo, and Girl Gone Bad solo.

I've started slaving the head since I recorded these clips and it sounds better.

Excellent, GGB is a great solo. I am going to build the 69 kit from metro. How loud were you playing?

Hey Mark1970,

Thanks. The volume was not quiet but not that loud. If I were playing with a drummer I probably would have had to turn it up, let's put it that way. I have the LarMAr PPIMV installed and while it does a great job of lowering the volume without changing the tone from a frequency/treble/bass point of view, you do lose some power tube distortion. I had it at 9 o'clock in these clips. The rest of the knobs were on 10, except for the bass which was at 0.

I'm slaving the amp now and it sounds much better, I can get that power tube grind that I was missing. You can't go wrong with a Metroamp if you love Marshall tone, I still can't believe how right George got it. Mine is a 1968 "transition" clone with a laydown PT and one filter cap mounted on the chassis, as close to EVH's as I could get based on all of the information that I could gather at the forum. Let me know if you need any help.

sounds good.i found even with the ppimv your using they seem to add some highs to the amp.

Thanks. I started slaving and prefer it over the PPIMV, I just don't have a second Marshall. I just bought a VHT 2502 and I will be setting it up as the second amp to see how it sounds.
