My Bogner complaint!

OK, the one thing I wish I could do on my 20th Shiva is go heavy to clean by rolling back the volume on my guitar. I can;t do that on my PWE Event Horizon either. Both amps sound fantastic but it would be nice to have that control.

Another complaint: wish that the channel volume didn't come on quite as quickly. And bias selectors for different tube types should come with amps that expensive like the Twin Jet.

Most manufacturers are not going to offer the bias selectors. If I were an amp manufaturer I would not either. It's not in the best interest of the manufacturers in light of people mistakenly having the switch in the wrong position and causing allot of damage to the amp. They would then expect the manufacturer to honor the damage as part of the warranty. It would be nice though. :D

Mesa gets away with it!
Nonadjustable fixed bias & a voided warranty if you don't use their tubes.

Agree on the channels jumping fast but I can't really complain about my Bogner. Does everything I need it to do.

I thought the Shiva cleaned up nicely based on clips with the volume knob? Is this not the case, or are you wanting crystal clean and not slight breakup type cleans?

You can't get breakup on the shiva cleans unless you are using outside factors

You can get a breakup clean, by rolling down the volume knob on channel 2, is what I believe he's referring to. Works for me... :dunno:

I was told the 20th X with EL34 uses another output transformer than the 6L6 version.... so at least it isn't possible for a few amps anway...

Sorry I wS talking about channel one- the clean channel. Of course on channel 2 you can get a lot of nice growly - dirty cleanish tones.
