My Diezel VH4 head is broken :(

It doesn't turn on

what happen...

I turned on the amp and it works fine, I accidently switched on the stand by, then I hear a weird noise and then the amp turns off and a burn smell. Since then, the amp doesn't turn on

Is it broken tubes, transformer, transistor?

whats even worse is that I live in a small town and no one does amp repairs here

Check mains fuse
replace if broken.

With a fresh fuse pull all power tubes
switch amp on.

a) If fuse stays alive, switch off and put back tubes.

b) If fuse blows again: replace power tubes.


Don't worry: 95% are caused by power tube failure. Thats why there's a fuse, you know . . .

I don't get it. There's "a prob" with a new VH4, a guy posts into the official forum - and doesn't come back for 4 days? WTF?

If this stuff continues I'll heavily moderate this forum.
