Quite literally, I only had 20 minutes to record tonight so I thought I would throw a quick clip I just put together.

It is a short piece of Dream Theater's Constant Motion. I didn't EQ the clip at all. The backing track has absolutely none of the original guitar in the clip (found it on another forum, I hope it's alright to use it). Everything you hear is my guitar, amp and playing (that's not necessarily a good thing!). I started learning the song while recording the clip.

Let me just say that I am loving this amp! I know I am still in the early stages but I haven't felt this excited to play in a long time. Every time I get finished playing around with the amp I get a big smile on my face. I will post a more comprehensive review later after the honeymoon stage.

Let me know your thoughts!

Very cool...I'm glad you're digging it! I've owned mine for about a year now and it still puts a huge smile on my face every time I plug in. I highly recommend to use Ralph's settings as a base and tweak from there.

nice tone dude.. I miss my MK IV!

What settings did u use?

Maybe you're excited because you can sound more like Petrucci now :P

You seem to play DT stuff a lot. I don't mind because they're my favourite act.

The clip sounds great though!

I bet there's some truth to that, being a DT fan may very well contribute to why he digs the Mark IV.

The clip definitely fit right into that DT song quite well.

before I read your post I thought it was a joke because it sounds so much like the real recording hehe

great work

That sounds great dude! The vocals in that song are hilariously bad though. It would sound far better without them.

Haha wow, that sounds great dude. Sounds really close to JP's tone on the song.

I can pretty much imagine the EQ curve you used.

Very much digging it!

I haven't played with Ralph's settings yet but will this weekend. I dialed in this tone after 10 minutes of tweaking. Much easier to dial in the amp then originally thought. I read about how this amp is complicated. I haven't felt that way at all.

Sounds great!

I bet after you get to know the amp better, you will be pulling some downright killer tones out of it

thanks for the compliment! I don't care to sound like Petrucci even though I use his guitar. I love the guitar (how it sounds and plays). I like how the Mark IV sounds.

I am actually more influenced by Joe Satriani and Alex Lifeson although I am a huge admirer of John Petrucci. Either way, the song and clip was fun to play!
