Man, I am so floored by this amp. I recently found it on ebay. 1968 Super Reverb, blackface spec AB763 circuit. Talk about a sweet clean tone, light overdrive, smooth as butter. Hit it with my Maxon OD-9Pro+ and it's heaven. Very Marshally with the pedal actually. I really have never been so inspired while playing an amp. It sounds so damn good with my strat and Van Zandt pickups.

Now you got my attention. Very nice, I had a 69 Deluxe Reveb but I gave it to my son. Now I'm down to the 59 Guild.

Very nice...

I didn't understand the vintage Fender hype until I played this amp. With light overdrive it is so damn smooth. I can't wait to add a nice fuzz for some Eric Johnson type tones. It's really very versatile to me since it takes the overdrive so well.

Back to playing... :D

Nice, I am looking to buy a Fender in the future. Looking for something like an old BF.

I'd highly recommend a Super Reverb. Look for a 67-68 Silverface. Blackface tone without the price. :D

Make sure it's the AB763 circuit.

Great amp, I really want a Super Reverb at some point. How much are the drip edge super reverbs going for now if you don't mind me asking?

I have a '69 Bandmaster reverb and a '67 Bassman, both are great amps. The bandmaster reverb is sort of like a super reverb in head format with a different output transformer. I like that the super reverbs have a mid knob, and the 410 speakers. Not that much fun to carry around though.

Only thing I dislike about silverfaces is that both of mine had the bias balance, but that was easily changed.

Now there is another amp Id love to own. Its kind of ridiculous that I dont own a vintage Fender. I could gig with a SR and be perfectly happy. Fantastic amps. Besides the grill cloth, yours looks pretty clean!

thats my dream Fender amp right there...does have the original jenson alnico speakers? great acquistion!

I have been gigging with my vintage 1959 Guild for well over 10 years more like 18. Its basicly the same as a Fender Deluxe of its era with no reverb and tremelo. The tone is right there for me but its not real loud like a twin or a super. I play miked, in a room for around 800 people and its all the amp I need under those conditions. Its also very lightweight and easy to move. I do all my tone shaping with my pedalboard and outboard reverb. Old amps are the way to go if you can find one.

I got this one for around $1,300. Pretty good price me thinks. I'm pretty sure the speakers are original, not too sure. If they aren't oh well...Sounds great anyway.

to be honest it's really not THAT heavy to carry around. It came with some casters too, so I'm not too worried about that.

Yeah, vintage amps are the bees knees. I could see now using it for metal, but for most things rock or blues it is one fine amp.

I think you did pretty darn good on the price. The seller not showing the gut shots of the amp lowers the final price in my experience. I think the speakers are original, but I am no expert.

The guy who had my Bandmaster reverb before me used it for metal

Heh, I guess anything is possible right?? Stick a metal zone in front of her!@#% :D

I could see pulling off Iron Maiden-esque tones with it I suppose.

Thanks for the info

My friend who I use to be in a band with has a SR, that was a great sounding amp. Sound quite mean with a fuzzface in front too.

Yeah I can't wait to get my new Lovepedal 200lbs fuzz. Should sound quite nice. I think they just need a bit of overdrive in front of them to sound best.
