Not really. I've been playing with this thing for years. I've tried lots of things and learned some things. This is the final version because I'm done! I'm no Designer, but I could spend my time on doing a lot worse.. It started out as a Crate V5 with 1-12AX7 and 1-EL84 and a TL072 front end.. The stock Power Transformer fried in the journey because it was meant for 2 tubes, not 4.. So I went with the Hammond. This thing sounds good thru the 8" speaker. It sounds like shit thru everything else.. It has a lot of gain maxed out. I put a Push Pull Master Volume to bypass the 2nd Gain Stage for cleaner tones and it can get spanky with a Single Coil Neck.. It's a good enough little practice amp and that's what I intended it to be. It's better than stock I promise.. LOL
I messed around with Negative Feedback, but it really needed a Presence circuit to be passable. The more NFB I added, the bigger and tighter the lowend got but the high end gets stale in proportion. There's no more room for another Pot, so no NFB was the call. The Schematic probably isn't 100%. I don't have the Artificial Heater Center Tap in there, maybe some other things but you get the idea... I'm done messing with this thing.
The next build is gutting my Jet City 112 Combo to build a Deliverance D60 with 6L6's. At least that is the plan. The Stock JCA PT probably won't last long pulling KT88 Heater Current..
