Hey, I like it! The faster section reminds me a lot of an 80s thrash riff. Noice! Tone is somewhat similar to that era, too. It doesn't sound like there is a bass guitar in the mix or am I wrong on that point. It seems like it's needing that to fill out the bottom end of the mix.

Thanks! There actually is bass there, but it's mixed down because it's software bass and I didn't like the sound, didn't sit right. Last night a buddy of mine let me use his bass and I tracked actual bass to it. This is the first time I have played/tracked/mixed bass.

I just realized who your playing style reminds me of: Jeff Waters of Annihilator. I see the similarity particularly in the fast (double-time) part. It definitely reminds me of something off the Never, Neverland album. Cool stuff. I think your bass tone has too much distortion, for my tastes at least. I find that much "fuzz" on the bass tends to make it indistinct, unclear and ends up fighting with the guitars in the mix. This may be a case where "less is more." That adage seems to be especially applicable well when layering distorted guitar and bass tracks in a mix.

Thanks dude. I've actually never listened to Annihilator, but I'll give her a listen.

Yeah, they're definitely not Doom, but Jeff Waters certainly displays skill in both playing and composition. I heartily recommend him to anyone who enjoys metal oriented riffing.
