My TOL100 still makes me smile......

I played a gig this weekend fillng in for a good friend of mine who was out of state-So I went to the closet and pulled out my MICA TOL100 head I got from Bruce new back in '95 from the basement shop....Anyway,plugged it in,put it on standby for a few and then turned it off standby and hit a trustsy "A" chord-WHAT TONE!
I really had forgotten how much I love that amp. When I said that
I went to the closet to get the amp I should have said that it was in there awhile-Since April of '05....And it fired right up and sounded
great the whole weekend! If you ever come across one of these you
should just BUY IT! You won't regret it.......
 
Oh Hills,You know what I'm talking about-You've played it before too! Did you ever get in touch with Kev about his deal he signed with the label? He wants to play Egnater BAD! I'm thinking either
Tourmasters or Renegades(when they come out)......

I love my MICA 100 head...it is definitely one of the best music purchases I've ever made. I found it at a local live auction and picked it up thinking it would be a backup to my IE-4/RT2-50 rack setup. But the MICA sounds so good that I rarely cart my rack around any more!

I had a red face IE-4 as well with a VHT 2/50/2 poweramp and let 'em both go ...And ,yes, I'm kicking myself for letting the IE-4 go....Good thing it was'nt a GREEN face plate model!....

alright tol cats I have a questioney


I was asked to run a di box out of my tol for a benefit I'm playing friday night.

Would you pull the signal from the slave out, or somewhere else?
I actually have a voodoo labs cabtone box that runs inline between amp and cab so maybe that would be a better tap?

depends if they want no stage volume.
 
My question is this-

Is the slave out like a preamp out/ fx send

I'm thinking the slave out is like taking the line out of the hotplate---a non compensated direct output, not a very musical option fed directly to the house, more designed to feed effects,
versus the cabtone which has speaker emulation on the line out so it's not as harsh.

Another question

If I plug a direct box into the unused speaker output from my amp, does it affect the ohm load on the amp at all?
