After getting the 2nd hand BW earlier this year, I got completely bitten by the bug. What I realised many years ago when I played my first Tyler, the fact that they were the best strats on the planet imho, was now clear, the BW totally blew me away and I hardly picked up any other guitar. Somebody here posted that he sold all his other guitars to get more Tylers and I totally understood that.
So then I got lucky twice. I had a nice bonus this year but it went into our savings account, then I also get a serious tax refund. My SO saw how much I loved that BW and much to my surprise, she ok'ed getting another one. I was close to getting a 2nd hand Landau Classic but that deal came not thru so I looked around what the different shops in Europe had in store. I actually wanted a Classic as the BW is SE so in the end it was between this one cool hollow SE and a Classic that I had been eyeballing for a year.
And so I decided in favour of the Classic. Here's what just got delivered to my house. There was a little issue at customs but it all was solved fairly easy and she is definitely worth the wait. Big thanks to Magne and Deb at Godlyd for the excellent service and quick responses to my mails.
Meet Fire & Ice, I just hope that Ice won't melt from being to close to Fire
Specs are:
Tyler Classic
Alder body
Antarctic mint schmear
Maple neck with rosewood board
Suhr single coils and SD JB Trembucker
VS50V trem
Sperzel locking tuners
Had a quick test with the Carr and compared both guitars. The Classic sounds a bit more open, the SE is VERY balanced and even sounding, the Classic seems to jangle more for lack of better word. They have very similar specs although the single coils on the Classic could be V60 while the SE has V60LPs still they don't sound the same. Rehearsal tomorrow, gigging on Sunday, 2 Tylers, life is VERY good.
