Hey Peter or Terry, my Vh4 started humming tonight. I turned it on (on stby) and I could here a fairly loud hum coming from inside. Kinda freaking me out a little. It seems to be working ok but I have never noticed the hum before. I have owned it for about 4 years.
I have alot of gigs coming up in the next few weeks, do you think I have anything to worry about? :scared:
God, I don't want to have to dust off the rectifier that has not seen daylight since I bought the Diezel. YUK!! nasty tone!!
Thanks guys
Steve

How are the tubes? What tubes power and pre? Do you have replacement tubes?

Terry, right now I am using nos boogie el34 (siemens, rft whatever they are) I blew the sed tubes and this was all I had at the house. they are not very old. I spoke to Olaf about using these and he said they should be ok. The preamp tubes are shuguang 12ax7c and ruby's. They have all been replaced in the last 3 months or so.
I don't have any other power tubes right now, I was thinking about switching to the jjkt77's.
any suggestions?

Do you think thats where the hum is coming from? it almost sounds like a transformer hum  I hope not
Again, it is humming while in stby, as well as while in run mode.
Thanks Terry
