This thing is a monster! If you own an ecstasy and want something much lighter and much smaller, to do the Bogner thing, you will not be disappointed… No, it is not an ecstasy… But it has all of the Bogner flavor (DNA) you could ever ask for, considering the size and weight, it is a fantastic little amp with incredible array of tones available, I have just scratched the surface over the last couple of days, I prefer the vintage tone, using the rectifier tube as it gets closer to the ecstasy sag, feel and tone,
I am currently on the 70s mode and it just rips, there is enough gain just using the crunch channel at about half to get tons of sustain and very rich harmonics and pinch squeals etc. etc.
The clean channel is just plain beautiful… I think it is better than the ecstasy clean channel but this is subjective of course. Clean ch feels and sounds much more sweet 'fender'…
Played at rehearsal Friday night, the amp performed absolutely wonderful, did everything I needed it too and I was totally happy with it, actually I was giddy at how small it is and how huge it sounds! Lots of that low mid growl and more bass than you will ever need, I have the bass at 1 o'clock, compared to my ecstasy 100B which is set at 2 o'clock…
I have played four high-end lunchbox amps and this is by far the most versatile and of course, the logical choice for a Bogner lover…
Again, if you want something to quickly take with you to a rehearsal, or even a gig and don't feel like carrying 65 pounds of Xtcy… This may be your answer, it is absolutely my answer! I really cannot understand how someone could love a Bogner ecstasy and not also love this little beast, for what it is, it's an amazing piece of gear that's been well thought out and well laid out… This is no honeymoon phase, this is exactly what I needed, for me, it is absolute perfection! I will do a full review in a few days.
I Purchased from 'GUITAR SHOP' at 249 Lakeshore East in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada… Adrian, one of the co-owners, (sincere, great guy) will help you out, I was blown away by the nice amps ( and high end guitars) they carry, Friedman, Bogner- they have a good selection, Great people to deal with! Extremely professional, very patient, and helpful, I left there, with my new Bogner, feeling like a million bucks!

Thanks for posting, may have to give the Atma another look.

You can't go wrong with any Bogner amp. They all kick major ass.

Yes, absolutely… They did mail it with this one,
ReloadZZ, my buddy tells me I just have to try that Helios out…
I'm afraid to, there comes a point where you just have to cut it off and stop buying amps…

As you know, soon to have another Atma in my amp stable. The Helios is tremendous and well worth a look/listen. As a Bogner freak just like you, the Helios has proven to be one of my all time favorite Bogner creations ever.

My goodness, SS... you have done this to me for almost 20 years now!
;-)

Sweet. I love the Guitar Shop too, best and friendliest music store I've ever been to.

All is well bro, just getting back into the playing thing…
Been gone too long, it feels good, although it did take a while for my calluses on my fingers to build up, Hehehe

I go on waves.... But never going to completely quit.
Are you going to put the full review on this thread ?

Ya, I have not played any other amps since last Thursday, when I brought this baby home… just the Atma - I wanted to thoroughly get to know it…
I don't sit, practice and play, ever... (Boring) I always stand, have my stereo going loud, (sirus/xm) switching stations from rock to blues to hard rock and everything in between… It keeps my timing really sharp and I can really tell when an amp fits and cuts in a mix etc etc...
I will give it a full review on the weekend

I'm loving my Atma too...and I just got the matching cab which is really nice (albeit overpriced IMO). Where are you guys setting the gain knob on the back vs. the one on the front?

I play right now in the 70s mode most of the time, I try the others out and always come back to the 70s mode, (Great for Judas Priest, Van Halen, Aerosmith, Iron maiden) although if I was doing a HEAVY gig, the extra gain in 80s mode is just pure magical! On 70s mode, I set the gain ( crunch on back) at about noon, (halfway)… With the gain on the front set at 4 o'clock... Which gives me huge, never-ending sustain on the solo channel and great gain on the crunch channel - still lots of gain for chirps, pinch harmonics, sustain, heavy rhythm etc. etc.

Love the cab -- looks great but sounds even better. I still think it's overpriced but I certainly don't regret the purchase. It sounds perfect with the Atma head.
