I'd like to show you my new BR Custom Cabinets 3x12 cabinet loaded with two Celestion Century Vintage speakers on top and a single Electro-Voice EVM12L Classic at the bottom. The cabinet and speaker selection works perfectly with Diezel Hagen's voicing and is able to reproduce its broad frequency spectrum plus it handles the low end better than any other cabinet I have tried. Sorry Peter, but I like it even more than my beloved Diezel frontloaded 4x12 with G12K100s ;)

I will write an in-depth review of the cabinet aswell as how it sounds with Hagen and D-Moll once I had more time with it.

How do they wire that up? 2-8 ohm Celestion in series, then parallel with 1-16 ohm EV for 8 ohm equivalent?

Exactly

Is that a front load cab?

Yes the speakers are front loaded but you can choose between rear or front loaded for the top speakers. The bottom speaker is always front loaded.

I wrote a small review about the cabinet.

Thats at least a medium size review if I say so myself! Modest Markus over here!

That cab looks f'n awesome. Really interesting to see the 3 speaker design, the porting, and the speaker choice. I would LOVE to hear how it sounds with the Hagen...I bet it just crushes worlds!! Thanks for the pics and the write-up, good sir.

Markus and I cross-tested Hagen and VH4 with some guitars and some Tunings. We compared the 3x12 with the BC Custom Thiele 1x12. That little monster, damned!!! You can turn it up an up and it stays clear, defined, aggressive and even more articulated as many 4x12 Cabs I played. The more you turn it up, the more it transforms to a Godzilla-Screaming-like-Monster!
The 312 kicks ass, indeed! It sounds more "scooped" compared to the 112! And it has more "Fizz" and Bottom End. But it is impressive, how much the V30 are colouring the sound with its typical midrange.... Not easy to discribe. But both cabinets are interesting and very useful. And the share the way you are heard: nearly everywhere!!! You can have the 112 at the bottom in a small rehearsal room and it won't make a problem if you stand 50cm next to it, and you will hardly hear a difference when you walk around in the room! Your guitar cuts through! And what's very impressive as well: I could even turn my Master down, and the whole Band was able to play more likely together, because everybody sits in his right place, no more frequency-fighting! One guitar more upper midrange (Orange RV 100 with V30) an one more deeper (VH4 with Evm12L).... Perfect!

Are they all 12" speakers?

Would be cool to have 2x12" + 1x15" in the same cab.

Interesting.

Does it mean the single EV gets as much power as the two other speakers together, making the EV work harder?

Sounds interesting!

Yes they are all 12" speakers.

Beeing a custom cabinet shop it would be possible to get a 2x12 + 1x15. No problem :)

Yes, that is the way it works

Very cool concept. Have you had a chance to try the D Moll out with it yet?

Yes, the D-Moll sounds fantastic with the cabinet aswell. It brings out all the sonic qualities of the amplifier: broad frequency range, killer mid range and a lot of harmonic overtones. You can even use some very high deep settings with this cabinet because it will never get too boomy

I also tried the cabinet loaded with Celestion G12M-65 Creambacks. It works fantastic aswell for a wide variety of styles.

Next week I'll be able to test Herbert MKII with the 3x12.
