Yep.
I've had both 100w EVH Stealths, and kept trying to like the 50w 3 different times.
Played the Iconic and knew that was the best of all the EVH amps...for what I like.

What’s it doing for you that others don’t? I only ask because I played on the iconic 6L6 head during a recent Black Friday event this week. Seemed stiff for what I personally prefer without burn on, which sounded better, but felt odd under the fingers. Burn on fixed the feel but didn’t seem to sound as good. I want to see what others are experiencing that make it so… iconic
Congrats again and I do believe the el34 sounds better than the 6L6

Just the Marshall dna mixed with the 5150 bark. I like it much better than the 6l6. To me it feels like playing a modded Marshall. With a boost it gets nasty.Hell yeah congrats on the NAD!!

There's this 'squish' with the 5153s that seems to 'smear' the notes in an unpleasant way. Lots of compression, which also takes away from the tone IMO. They are decent amps but in the end I just don't like the tone, and squish/sag they have.
The Iconic is more open and raw sounding, without that same 'squish' thing. It's compressed but not in the same way as the 5153s. Dialing the gain back a little in the Iconic is key.
