The Blackmore got here about an hour ago and I got the V32 on Monday. I won't give a BM review cause I've barely turned it on, but it seems to be really easy to dial in. The V32 is about the best $299 I've ever spent. Killer cleans and a nice OD channel for classic rock and blues.

Finally got the BM eh? YAY!
That is an impressive tower of power ;)

Thanks mang! I'm loving the BM so far. It sounds good at low volume, but kills when it gets cranked a bit.

I think those amps would be a cool AB rig, V32H for cleans and Blackmore for grind......

How versatile is the Blackmore on its own?

I have the V3112 and my new JJ EL84's just arrived today for me to tone test tonight. I am also going to swap a couple pre's around. It has EH's now and the original GT powers.

I was pleasantly surprised how versatile the BM is. Its got a nice clean channel, the crunch channel can go from break-up to AC/DC type stuff, the soft lead channel does good hard rock tones, and channel four is a beast. The V32 is a cool amp too, way more gain than I expected.

Man, if I had a Blackmore and a V32 I would be SET. :aww: That's about all the tonal options I would need.

Killer amps!

Let me know how that goes if ya don't mind...I would be interested in what a tube change could do for the amp.

Can you do some gut shots fo the V32 and maybe link me to one? I've never even heard of V32.

I'll see if I can't get a gut shot over the weekend or something. The V32 (palomino series), are branded as a Crate, but if memory serves me correctly, they are actually made by Ampeg. I've heard that Crate has recently discontinued the Palominos, but also has put out a new V-series. I have no idea how they compare, but I remember really liking the Palomino when I played it this summer. It sounds great through a nice 4X12.

According to Doug at Doug's Tubes "the TAD's are warmer, the JJ's are chunkier" when it comes to the power tubes. There are lots of threads on this amp in regards to the pre's on HC and TGP. It seems that the V's do respond well to tube changes and the most common thing done is to get rid of the GT powers, and drop something other than stock into V1. Others have also had good results with dropping a 12AT7 or 5751 in there to open up the headroom a little bit.

Tonight it's JJ's in the power section and a 5751 into V1 for me.

Looks cool man, but I'm starting to think you're neglecting the Mark IV...why don't you just send it to me for some love? ;)

Oops, well, that would explain it!
