Hot off the bench is the 3rd run of Skeleton Key's. I love the purple amethyst color. You can't really see it in the picture, but there is a bit of shimmer in the tolex and sparkles on the faceplate. It looks sleek when the light hits it.

I took the day off so I could be home when it arrived. It was delivered a couple of hours ago. No one is home so I've been blasting some volume since I got it set up. To quote a fellow member @Devin ... THIS THING FUCKS!!! Shea @Monomyth designed a monster of an amp.

I'm not going to give any first impressions or review. You all know what it's all about and how great it sounds.

As you can see I have Jason's @burger Alta 100 right above it so some of you may be wondering how they compare. You're pretty much in the same tonal realm with both amps. Both cover your vintage and modern Marshall sounds equally well. One difference is you can get more of a true clean on the Alta, You can get sort of clean on the Skeleton Key but you're not really going to pull full clean tones out it. But seriously, who the fuck is going to do Fender sparkling cleans out of either of these amps?. Outside of that, the real difference is more in the execution. The Alta has a more modern vibe being multi channel with MIDI switching. The Skeleton Key is your straight up High/Low input single channel amp. Considering Shea & Jason are working together, the Alta & Skeleton Key really feel like 2 flagship models from the same company.

Now I just need my name to make it to the top of @RedPlated 's list for a Hellion; I think I'm about 14-15 down. Then the unholy trinity will be complete!

That is quite a stack of amps man, congrats! Looking forward to a future review. I have a 2nd run SK and am on the list for an Alta but not sure if it would be too redundant.

How did you get in the list?. I emailed a few months back and never heard anything. That was when 2022 was still on website. I just went on the other day and saw 2023 sold out.

I've had same issue with cut and lasting photos from Google. Ended up having to save and upload.

that tolex is the shit... it reminds me of " blackened tuna " but in purple .........very nice !!

I got on the wait list a good while back not long after Shea closed up preorders on the 2nd run. He messaged me in Feb that he was going through the list taking deposits for this set. I think he's doing only 10.

As disappointing as it was missing out on 2nd run, now I'm kind of glad I did. I love the tolex color on this group. It stands out much more than boring old black
 
I’ve got one of the plain purple ones. Those amps are insane. Best high gain Marshall sound I’ve ever heard.

One amp that’s never going anywhere. Enjoy

Yeah I hit him up in July back after he closed out. With only 10 wasn't sure if you had to know him personally or how long that wait list was.

Let's see some close ups of that Tolex, looks killer.
 
My Atla is coming in June. I had a Skeleton Key from the first run. I miss it and need to replace it with another one of Shea’s amps. I have both an Atla and a KSR Orion on order but hopefully by the end of this year I can grab another one of his amps
