I picked it up a few days ago and messed around with it a little yesterday. First things first, like any good tube amp you have to turn the MV up to at least 6 or 7 to drop the fizz and bring out it's true voice. The brit setting was kind of muddy in Hot mode with my Lester with the gain high even with the bass turned way down and the bright and tight switched on. But when I switched from Hot to Clean I got nice articulate crunchy rhythm and when I kicked in my boost there it was, singing sustain and VERY NICE raw British tone. The Vox setting drops some of the bottom chunk and adds a little more shimmer and USA voiced cuts the mids and adds bottom and high sparkle. The pedal and LP in USA voiced mode had me in overdriven Bassman land so I plugged in my Strat, messed with the tone controls a little and dialed in a nice shimmering drive that reminded me of a Deluxe or Vibrolux. The bottom line is this thing ROCKS & I can tell already I'm going to love this amp. I've only used it through my 425A cab so far and need to try it with some smaller cabs. Hopefully I can get similar results in a smaller footprint.

Tried it with a DIY 212 that I've been holding off finishing.

Now that I have this I'm going to finish it in matching black & cane. The jury is still out on the speakers. I might go with the more traditional G12H30s. I've got a set of '74 CTS alnicos in it for now. I've been running one in one of my Silvertones and like it in that.

I picked up a beat old BD2 yesterday to try with it. :inlove:

Just unreal! I was thinking I might have to trim my cab down before finishing it but after putting it through it's paces I've decided I'm not touching it. It's staying 14" deep. I'll fit it with a split back so I can run closed, partial or open. Time to order matching tolex & cane grill cloth. The CTS alnicos are amazing sounding. I didn't think they would be but they really are. I'm running MIA Ash Deluxe Strat with SCNs and my Les Paul Standard w/Burstbuckers > MIJ SD-1 > BD-2 > Tweaker > 212 cab. I stuck my TCE G-Sharp in the loop and dialed in a spring 'verb setting. With the Strat I leave the BD2 on and kick in the SD1 for leads and heavy rock tone. The Tweaker is outstanding in all 3 voicings. Loved the Fender & Vox tones with the verb. Nice shimmering crunch, just beautiful. I'm not sure I can even pick a favorite. With my Lester I just run the BD2 and ride the volume control on the guitar for rhythm lead changes. Again all voicings are stellar but my favorite is Marshall sounds. I've got to say, I can't remember the last time I was so satisfied with an amp's tone. This is definitely the best $300 I've ever spent. NOW, it's time to start swapping glass.

Congrats on the new amp, sounds like you're having a lot of fun with it already. I recently picked up a tweaker 40 & 2x12 cab that I'm still digging the sh*t out of :)
