Just took ownership of this beast today. This one also has a depth mod done by Jeremy from Ground Zero and can have massive amounts of low end.

I didn’t get a ton of time with it yet, but it definitely has the signature Wizard punch. I have a custom Splawn Nitro in the works with Scott right now and honestly I don’t know that I’ll end up keeping the Wizard. I’ve owned a few Wizards and I feel like the Splawn stuff gets damn close. Close enough to pay substantially less anyway haha.

Anyone got a clever way to make the clean unboosted and clean boosted tones the same volume? I could do it with scene levels in my FM3 but was curious about what others have done. I’d prefer to have true clean and dirty clean.

Curious on others’ thoughts on Wizard vs Splawn too.

That is interesting to have the Mod on it. But the true magic of the McII is when it is boosted, imo. Have you boosted it yet? Also, are you playing at full volume (11oclock to noon on master)?

I have boosted it and yeah it definitely crushes then. Eats boosts really well too. I definitely don’t have it cranked that much - only at about 9 on the master but I’m using it with a Suhr RL (I know, it’s sacrilege with a Wizard) so I could definitely bump it up.

I have always just played at volume. I had a powerstation, but I used it to get more volume because i had a 50 watt amp and liked using the 100 watt powersection of powerstation; so I can't speak to attenuation too well. But that is great, man. I have never got to try a splawn, but I think I would like one of those also.
