I've been jonesing for a JTM style amp for a bit now, mostly a Dirty Shirley or TS. One popped up locally for a good price and I was going to do it until I saw this...

... I know it's not in JTM territory. Gretsch is my kryptonite though.

Congrats! Some vintage Gretsch amps sound amazing and way underrated. I’m a big Gretsch fan too. All their products were cool, even their pedals

My all time favorite pickups are the ‘60’s Supertrons and ‘50’s PAF Filtertron’s. Their pickups in general are just so good. I enjoy them more than my actual ‘50’s Gibson PAF’s. Even their ‘70’s pickups are killer

Wow, that's a beauty! Congrats Al Chapo!!!

Very clean layout and nice looking build quality to this layman's eyes. Hopefully you have all weekend to enjoy it. Thanks for sharing it here.

I have no idea what it sounds like ........ but man I love the look ! Pristine and Clean !!

I've tried quite a few Valco builds, they've definitely got their own mojo about them. This is an '06 Victoria build, it's my favourite so far. I had a guy back out of a deal for a Playboy last year, it was devastating lol. I'm definitely with you on the old FT's, they sparkle in a way nothing else does.

My young lad is home today and the only other time that worked for buddy was Sunday, we took the road roadtrip today so I could work it over all weekend!
Congrats! What's it sound like? I'm not familiar.

It's very Blackface inspired. Has a 15" eminence legend. I didn't think it got too loud, turns out my patch cable needs to see the solder gun, it's got some balls! I'll try to find the time to record a bit.

Nice. Not sure of your location but if I hear Gretsch riffage wafting up the hillside later this evening I'll follow the tone to your door. Enjoy it in good health and have a sweet weekend! I get to crank the Twin all the way at tomorrow's gig so I'm hoping to have the same sort of fun in due time. Even got a new hat recently to debut that's nearly as classy and pimp as that amp of yours. Spoiler alert.....

Some of the early ‘60’s low wattage ones can be really great. The Filtertron’s and all the vintage Gretsch pickups have that unmatched sparkle. The ‘60’s Supertrons IME have the best sparkle. My FT’s in comparison are warmer and less hot

The exposed amp guts make me think of Fire Marshall Bill telling you it's dangerous because maybe you'll have your friends from work over for a cocktail party after a long week at work, and after you've had 4 or 5 whiskey sours you think it's a good idea to start dancing to the top 40 hits on the radio with a screwdriver in your hand and then BLAM! You stick it in the back of the amp while it's turned on.
