Long time no see . . . :-)

Got me an old JCM 800 "1987 model", which was heavily modded.
Took out all the mods (it had a clean channel added, preamp tube added, . . .) and installed a typical Jose Arredondo mod with three gain stages, pre-tonestack Mastervolume and - across the Master Volume - 2 Zener diodes.
Ideally I wanted to come close to the Sykes Marshalls, which I had the pleasure to see and hear a couple of times when the boys were back in town in the early 00s. Recorded direct into my isolation cabinet (Grossmann) with a V30 and two microphone (SM57, SE VR1) into Logic. Delay and reverb from Logic. Did the (basic) backing track myself.

No worries, just a 30 sec clip . . .

Sounds damn good to me - great playing & great tone.
My ears aren't all that great anymore, but I think Sykes tone is a bit rounder sounding. I "think" he was using 65 watt Celest ions

But this sounds great!

Thanks guys, I really appreciate the kind feedback. @Wayniac3 : I think you are completely right when it comes to his studio recordings.

You can't just suck me into a super mellow chill shred session and then cut me off like that though. I was really starting to dig your jam!!!

Amp sounds great!!!

:D Thanks man. Trust me, my pentatonic wanking gets boring very fast . . .
I love some good pentatonics like that tho! Never let the pentatonics box you in tho heh heh. Don't forget your passing and chord tones=much to explore. Thanks for sharing!!!

Sounds really excellent, I've been watching a bunch of your videos recently as I've been getting into amp guys who are trying to improve on "British type" amps.

I have no desire at all to chase John's sound, but you really nailed it there.

Thanks for listening to my stuff and your very kind words. Much appreciated.
