Man...
I've been searching for this chorus all my life... I loved the chorus on the ADA MP-1 and Gallien-Krueger 250ml/rl and 2000cpl; you know, the almost dry signal on one side, the other phase inverted and swept.
Been on the hunt for something a tad more, and haven't really met a digital chorus I liked very much (this is a big over generalization I know, but...), they always sounded a bit 'pingy.' Several Lexicon units (MPX-1, MPX-100, G2, LXP, Roland GP-100, Boss VF-1,etc, but not the higher end PCM's unfortunately), two different Rocktron Intellifex and several others...
Buck (and John) at ISP pulled off something great with the chorus on the ISP Theta Pro for damn sure. But I was on the lookout for a dedicated unit... and after scooping up an old beat up analog delay in the DOD R-880, I was starting to look for something analog and after some chatting with a great guy on another forum, he suggested some higher end stuff and also the Boss C-300... simply knobs, no frills, no muss...
Found one at the local Musicgoround and traded some pickups and WHAM!!!! It's a beast! Some great smooth sounds in this monster... I think it's a digital chorus, but I don't even know... but it's smooth and lush and has a great 'tone' knob to take out any amount of that high end spike I hear in a lot of choruses these days...
Anyone else have one of these guys? Feels very similar to the Carl Martin XII, which I loved, but wanted a line level device. I'm also curious about it's little brother the RCE-10 which has an additional pre-delay which I'm sure expands the possibilities a bit!
