Finally got around to finishing the neck on my Tele. I bought this a few years ago from Warmoth and planned on leaving it unfinished since it’s roasted maple. After playing for a while I wasn’t really liking the raw wood as much as I’d hoped. I had some time yesterday and applied a few coats of Tru-Oil. This was the first time I used it and I’m really happy with the way it turned out. It’s a really easy process of basically wiping on a very thin layer, wiping it off and repeating. This is the same process used by Ernie Ball which was the finish I was shooting for. They finish out the process with a layer of wax. I’m liking the way it is so I’m going to skip the wax for now.
