Well, my old Boss delay finally died and i'm now in the market.

Honestly I have no idea about what's good/not good since it's something i've never looked at. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

thanks

I put together one of the BYOC delay kits today...took a couple of hours, and so far I'm really diggin' it! Though I think the delay kits are currently out of stock.

The Ibanez DE-7 is fantastic and they're around for about $50.

I like the way the line6 dl4 sounds but, it seemed to have reliability problems too me. I have the boss dd20 now which I dont think sounds quite as good and is a bit hard too use but it hasnt broke on me.

Yeah, they are pretty versatile and sound great for the money. Ive heard about reliability problems but mine has been fine so far.

I actually like them too. It's also got one of the better and more controllable "spaceship" vwoosh oscillation trick sounds out there, especially for something that size.

I tried out the Line 6 Echo park at GC a while ago, and thought it sounded pretty good. There's a lot of sounds you can get out of it. I have an EHX deluxe memory man, and that's a good one too. The Boss digital delay pedals are nice too. Do you want a digital or analog delay sound?

Yeah its the definitely one of the best for space ship/raygun stuff that Ive heard. It does a decent slap back and digital delay thing too. If only I could set up a footpedal to control the delay time for the spaceship haha.

I tried the new Boss modelling Roland Space Echo pedal the other day. That was cool, and it does reverb, and you can switch it to remove dry signal so you can put it in a parallel loop. Nice! I'm using a G-major atm though and decided I don't have the spare dough. The Dr Scientist Sunny Day Delay is pretty cool too. Especially the version with the worried looking snowman graphics on! :D
