I will be leaving my TM 2x12 cab in my rehearsal space and just toting my Renegade head back & forth to band rehearsal, so I need a cab at home to run the head through.

Seems to me the best bang for the buck would be the Rebel 1x12 extension cab. I know the Renegade head is wider than the Rebel 1x12 cab, but when I'm at home, I have the head on top of my rack anyway, so that's no big deal. For under $250, I can't find anything that would be better. Any opinions?

Thanks,

The Rebel 112 is really hard to beat it for the price. Considering the speaker, cosmetics, and build quality. The ONLY downside is the size, if you're planning on putting a head on top of it.

For a larger 112, I had some made by Jesus (no, really... his name is Jesus) at AB Audio Custom Cabs in California. For a bare bones, all black tolex, black grill 112 that's the size of the egnater oversize 112, it ran me $150 shipped. Try to find a used CL80, or E80, or a K100, and you're at around $200. The AB cabs have simple handles, simple jack plates. Nothing fancy. But he'll make it to your exact specs, size and color wise, and it'll be delivered within 3 weeks or so.

Doesn't match, cosmetically, but gets the job done really nice.

Does it sound AS good as a nice big boutique 212? Of course not. Does it sound great compared to other oversize 112s I've heard? Absolutely

Thanks Nick. I've been wondering what Jesus has been up to all these years. Who knew he was building guitar cabs - then again, he was supposedly a carpenter

Seriously though, I'll get in touch with him. I'll already have a spare Elite 80, since I am replacing one of the 80s in the TM with a V30 Eric sold me. The Rebel 112 would look better I suppose, but at least I could have him make one wide enough to set the head on if I wanted to do that

He's great with communication pre-build. A little slow with communication during-build, and you'll have to remind him to send a tracking number. But just keep in mind that he IS working on your cab for sure.

My latest one was at my door in 2.5 weeks, packed very well.

SO funny, I entered thsi thread to tell you about JESUS! hahahahahahaha NIck beat me to it!
