Need an extra MIDI cable for my Mod50? 5 PIN? 7 PIN?
I checked the manual and didn't see anything.

I wanna get an extra one so I can keep one in the studio, and one in my stage cable-snake setup.

Thanks fellas!

Either one will work sufficiently and both will power the pedal. It's really up to you. I use a five pin because it was easier to come by.

I would always use the 7 pin myself that way if you have things that will run on the phanton power you already have the extra two pins that allow the phanotm to power your pedal. Who wants wall-warts out on the stage.

Well, are you likely to use a Rocktron or ADA switch in the future? use a 7 pin.

Are you likely to use a DMC pedal in the future? use a 5 pin.

I think this is the way it pans out.

I'm likely to use my massive 4 button eggy footswitch.

MIDI still scares me for the most part.

Don't be a wuss and go for it Nick

Haha. I'm kinda just kidding. The thought of any sort of Rack system still isn't my cup of tea. But just seeing how you can program the 4 buttons on the footswitch to basically any 4 channels you want on your Mod50, letting them switch our of order if you'd like, is awesome, and easy to do.

Ya wuss!!!! ;) hehehehe j/k...I'll tell ya, MIDI ain't that hard at all. I couldn't imagine pedal dancing anymore. One button for each program change is just so nice. But, each person has their preferences. I used to be a pedal dancer until I got a Lexicon MPXG2. That is just one bad ass piece of gear I'll tell ya!

And adding an Egnater into the mix of midi is sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo SIMPLE. just plug it in to the midi mix and press and hold the channel button for each module for each midi channel OMG wish all midi units where that easy.

Tell me about it. I only had a 5 PIN MIDI cable and so I just said fuck it, plugged it into my ENGL footcontroller and boom, footcontroller powered on and worked perfectly.

i actually run a 5pin midi din to 5pin locking xlr on my pedalboard patch interface, its awesome.

for those afraid of midi, i'm about to do a video on setting up a mod50 / axess grx4 / axess mfc5 combination.. i'll post the link when i'm done.

its just a matter of time..

it might be done with a digital camera if I can't get my buddy's dv cam

I just designed a breakout box that allows me to switch my tourmaster 4100 head with my midi footpedal. Now my rocktron multivalve effects switch with my channels on the 4100. I hate pedal dancing myself so I had to wire up this breakout box.

I am back to being a one pedal guy again.

looks like i'll shoot the video tomorrow on shitty camera.. oh well.. you'll get the idea anyway.. i just played around with the rig abit tonite.

i'm pretty tonally happy. :)
