I'm at that point where I have enough money for what I wanted to save up for... another RG1527 in Music123's Exclusive Black. However, I'm only about 2 months away from saving up for the amp I want to get next, a Mark IV. I already have a Mark III and a Rackmount Recto though. What do you guys think I should get and why? The reason I'd get the 1527 would be to tune it to Eb; The reason I'd get the Mark IV would be for the cleans and lead tones mainly. Should I save up for the IV and hope Ibanez comes out with another 1527 during NAMM with a different color, or get the exclusive 1527 now and save up for the IV later? I hate making decisions! :x

get the 1527 when they get new colors. i would LOVE to be able to have a markIII AND markIV at the same time. THAT would be awesome!

I have 2 RG1527s and an RG7620 and I love them. 1527s are blue and purple and the 7620 is black but I started refinishing it tonight.

I haven't tried a mark iv in a while and I've been curious to try one out again.

Stupid to even get the Mark IV at all IMO. You already have a Mark III. Get a Blackmore dude.

Tough call, what is your main goal with either piece?

What do you play?

IF you are a shredder the MK IV is a no brainer and if you play out the seperate eqs will make all of the difference.

I have the 1527 and love it, great guitar for the price after changing the bridge pup, the neck is good enough for the meedle meedle motor boat stuff.

Get the 1527 and sell the MK III for a IV would be my position. But if you like the III get the IV and see what amp you can unload for the 1527.

I'm a self-proclaimed wanna-be shredder. I already have a 1527 at the moment. I'm not gonna sell the III though because it gets the extremely aggressive tones the IV cannot get. Eventually I'm gonna get another 1527 and eventually I'm gonna get a IV. It's just deciding which to get first. If I get a IV, it'll be a rackmount of course. Also, I don't wanna go the 7620 route because I'm trying to stay with the Prestige series. I just prefer the necks to the older Ibanez necks.

It'll take 2 months to save for the IV as of now. If I get the IV, it'll take me another 3 months to save for a 1527. If I get the 1527 now, it'll take me 5 months to save for the IV again. It's almost like playing a game of which I want more..... :(

Oh and Mega, put a sock in it.

I'm serious dude, I don't see any point in having 2 amps that are so similar. It's like when I had a 5150 and a 5150 II, I thought it was going to be awesome...but it was just useless.

Ok, I voted MK IV since you have a 1527. For what it is worth the Blue is a nice looking piece, that is what I have.

Alittle delay and verb and everyone is a shredder on the MK IV, and I am not trying to be funny.

Yes the Prestige necks are great and the weird thing is that the 1527 neck is the most stable one I have :? Plus the case is one of the best cases I have ever owned, you could drop this case from the second story and the guitar would be fine. The bridge pup has to go though.

The I and IV are the most different Mark amps out of the entire series. The IV is like a nice, round, tubey, warm sounding amplifier. The III is aggressive and bitey. If they made a Mark that had both tones in it, I'd just get that one, but they don't.

I have an Air Norton 7 and Blaze Bridge in mine at the moment. The neck is pure sex and they're the strongest Ibanez has ever made since they're using the 5 piece design. On top of that, the Prestige guitars are made at the same area where the signature guitars are made so you know the quality is gonna be very good. The only thing Ibanez makes better are the J-Customs which are experimental guitars. Case is the best non-ATA case I've ever seen in my life as well. Gotta love the porno-red interior. Mine is the exact same as yours BTW. 8) Oh, and I got my rack to cover me for all the effects I need at the moment. 8)

It must be the walnut skunk stripes because every guitar I have has moved again due to the humidity here in CT coming back and that 1527 is rock solid.

Yeah, the red interior is pimp 8)
