i want to do the following:
make the following chain : torpedo reload into the torpedo cab into tc gforce stereo out into apogee duet into macbook air
do i need balanced or unbalanced cables and where ?
i want to make the choice of some drive pedals into the reload and have the benefit of an di ( reload )
or amp into reload into the rest , does that make sense ?

You may want to be more specific about your connections.

Balanced cables are only useful if both ends are going to be balanced i.e. the sender and the receiver AND generally preferable when cable runs are longer.

Anything at instrument level i.e. pedals, guitars etc is all unbalanced

The output of a tube amp to a load box (Reload speaker) should be a better quality speaker cable without an excessive length (i.e. don't get a 50 footer if you are set up in a bedroom)

the connections between a Torpedo, any processors and the DAW can be balanced, either TRS or XLR as required but in most cases, unbalanced cables will be fine
