While I can't say how they'll react in the Erect, I've found the Sovtek LPS to generally 'loosen up' an otherwise 'tight' feeling module.

Yeah...go with a long plate tube (JJ ECC833, Sovtek LPS, Mullard RI, GE, RCA) and a chinese c5, 8 or 9 depending on the gain you like.

The Mullard RI and GE are tighter than the others though...
