... and tell me if we should go ahead and get a mastering house to master it or the guy that did the mix, to do it. Basically, is it a good enough mix to put money into it? He's a friend of ours and basically did it for nothing, he's not really experienced yet, but the right price for us poor mofo's. Can't change anything now because he's recording some other bands and we would have to start from scratch because we did 10 songs. Basically I think the mix is ok, but there's definitely room for improvement, plus we spent like nothing on it once again and I wasn't going to get too picky. I come here because I know alot of you guys are more experienced with mixes and could tell me if a good master will help straighten it up nice and good.

Thanks,

-Nick

I would always suggest pro mastering for serious projects.

That said, and please don't take this too negatively, I would not bring that mix to a pro mastering engineer. The compression pumping of the drums alone pose a big problem.

I HOPE you were looking for honest input. Others may have differing opinions. Your mileage may vary. Etc. and so forth.

Yeah, exactly what I figured/was thinking, thanks guys. Probably an ok demo I guess, wish we had the money to get it done right.
