Ok,

So I just got my new ruby el34bht's installed in my amp when suddenly when I installed one of them I felt something broke(though I was really gentel) and I think the guide pin is broken..

I was only the plastic though and it did fit with the tube into the slut so I tried to insert the tube the way it is and after turnning the amp on I srated to see some red marks showing up on the tube's glass. Here are some pics:

So, did I just ruined my tube....??? Cant I stil use it?

Yep, the guide pin is broken. There should be a way to align the pins properly, but there's probably someone on here who knows more about that than I do. Sorry to hear this man!

This happened to me(albeit not with the same amp). As long as you carefully align your pins the same way as your others are situated, you should be good to go!

You can also glue the guidance pin with SuperGlue. I do it very often with old Siemens/RFT or Tesla tubes, with no problems after that.

But the tube will work great even without guidance pin, but You got to mark the tube to put it correctly in the socket.

Regards, Andy :)
