I have been quietly designing a new handwired, Egnater amp, the HW45. It is basically an updated production version of the amp class model that we will handbuild in Los Angeles. A fairly simple one channel amp with a footswitchable volume boost. The tone is the same as the amp class model. Because everything we do seems to get complicated, my goal was to keep it as simple as possible and just give you "the tone". Comments? Would you buy one and why? Probably exclusive through Sweetwater at first for around $1800 in late August. The drawings are just for reference, not final at all. Thanks for your comments.

Looks pretty sweet Bruce!! Power section?? Easily swappable/bias of power tubes??

I may be in the market to pick one up.

It is probably out of my wheelhouse for practicality and cost. But I'd have to hear it before I made my final decision.

I really doubt it would replace my Renegade though, even though the Renegade has more "bells and whistles" than I need.

Best of luck on the new product!

Davie, the class amp is like a hot rodded Marshall type tone. So it's got plenty of gain.

Oh, I thought he meant classA or A/B.

I really feel Bruce should follow an internal( this is what I really wanted to do) course.
I mean, does the world really need another Marshall or Fender clone. I've built several over the last few years. Sound great, fun, but if you've been around the block, so..

I wish I had the ability to design from the ground up. Alas, I don't but Bruce does.

When are you going to start selling the good stuff in the UK....man this ain't fair....knew I should have bought a Cornford....I'm tellin you Bruce I'm that close to buying a Evil Robot....Your Killing Me....k.j.

For the benefit of those of use who have been unable to attend the amp seminar to-date and, as such, have never heard the seminar head, are there any clips that could be posted up? The premise of the amp is intriguing, but I would love/need to hear one before really deciding if it was something worthy of adding to the stable.

Also, I would suggest a huge improvement would be to not only make a low gain/high gain footswitchable tone, but also make it possible to footswitch to a nice, crystal clean tone. So basically, a clean channel and a dirty channel which you can footswitch between, as well as a footswitchable boost on the dirty channel.

Bruce, Looks good, but I think I'd put the Boost and Tight inputs in the back. Also, that is going to be pricey for most. I think, though not me, most will go ahead and buy the Marshall HW45. Not ever giving an Egnater amp a try. Their loss!!
Good-Luck Bruce!!

I like the idea of being able to get a great overdrive tone with a volume boost for solos....as long as it cleans up when I turn my guitar's volume down. Is that doable?

I would love to hear one!

Still time to get into our amp building class at the Music Garage in Chicago on September 13/14, 2014. You can build your own amp and easily modify afterwards. Email me at begnater@aol.com for information. Cost is $1950. Only a couple spots left.
