They would have to pay me to play a guitar with a headstock that looks like that .

Had a well traveled Gunslinger back in the 90's...nice instrument..threw flames with a Duncan distortion in it.

Oh my! I feel like I've seen actual 80s Nagels for significantly less than that, though. Even recently, but BC Rich is insane priced these days. Maybe they use the wood from the True Cross or something, I dunno. Anyway, I'd be into one at 1/3 that price, maybe.

Always wanted a Nagel but I'm definitely too poor for one of these.

Glad they're putting them out anyway

First exposure to BC was ....Down Boys. Warrant. Remember them tossing them in the air at the end?

Always wanted a gunslinger, but that's crazy money.

Someone posted a plain black one of these on the BC Rich facebook group. Not trying to judge, but they paid $4800... for what is essentially a normal black two humbucker, bolt on neck guitar. I just don't understand why the price point is there, even made in the USA.

Especially while vintage BC rich's are still around, I mean, I had two '87 ST-III's and sold both for $1k or less. I can't imagine a new one plays $3800 better than those did.

Also, maybe it's the angle of the picture, but the headstock shape looks off. Like it's squished a little, not as long/thin as the old ones? And why a scarf joint neck when the original ones weren't? Just lots of little ??? on these

And who is making these? It's one thing to pay a lot for a Jackson/Charvel. You know who is making it and where, and you kinda know they will be around if something goes wrong with it.

All I can tell you is You should try and sell BC rich guitars . Can't give them away unless they are super collectable .

I'd snap up another pre-class axe ST-III in a heartbeat for a fair price. I wouldn't touch anything after like 1995... then again that's not exclusive to BC Rich for me, I have my era of guitars that I like and it's a rare modern guitar catches my eye from any brand, especially at some of these prices. I'd actually consider myself the target audience for instruments like this since I'm a big 80s music/gear guy, so a modern reproduction/reissue is something I *would* be willing to pay for if it's done right.

For comparison, modern reproductions of 80s era guitars:
  • Ibanez RG550 Genesis is a rare great example, nearly the same build and hardware as 30 years ago and $999, made in the same factory? Yes please!
  • BC Rich ST with different bridge, pickups, neck construction, different factory, and $4299? Zero interest. Even if the OFR is better than the Edge or Gotoh of the old ones, that doesn't make up the price difference to me.
  • Kramer Nightswan with different bridge, pickups, made in Indonesia, $899? Not particularly interested, but at least the price is ok.
  • Charvel USA Select, I'm conflicted on. The 2499 priced ones are ok, but only 3 colors and all satin finish, all rosewood, all "P" headstocks, all floyds. If you want a pointy headstock, or a maple fretboard, or a different bridge the price immediately jumps to $3600+
I guess I just don't understand why I can get a brand new USA made Fender Strat anywhere from $1699-$2299 with like 20 different color and feature options. But if I want a Charvel with a fulcrum bridge and a different fretboard I'm looking at $3600, and even then there are only two colors and only one neck. I understand that more people are buying Strats than charvels/bcrich/ibanez shred guitars, and that crafting instruments takes a lot of skill and craftsmen deserved to be well paid, but why such a huge price difference, with even fewer options available? I'd think offering a lot less options would be for the aim of making them cheaper to entice more buyers, if anything.

They are being made in Colorado. Not sure exactly where, but BC Rich has a set up in Colorado for the USA ones

It's strange. I went to their website to find their info. It gave me an address in Orlando FL. I looked up the address and it leads me to a cell phone company....

I spoke to a dealer that sells them in his store in Washington.
