Ok....so Rob from TM sent me a pic of the prototype short box 2x12 the gang at Bogner is working on. I know my 4x12 wants one of these on top or even maybe the bottom.....and I can't imagine what 4x12 would want this littl' buddy as well. Great lookin' cab for sure!!! Sounds like the price will be around 800.00.

Damn, this would go great with my Bogner 4x12. Then there's the new Bogner 4x12 too. Hard Decisions !

Here is my 2x12 oversize cabs on straight 4x12s for comparison.

How you digging those 2x12 OS Bog cabs?? Although I know there's a "secret weapon" currently in development as per new 2x12's, I am still keen on the sonic qualities of the over-size, closed back 2x12 for my Uberschall. I've had a good chat with TM, and also my Canadian distributor, and for purposes of the studio, my guess is a 2x12 loaded with G12K100's is the best bet.

The thing that appeals to me about the oversize design (closed back) is the internal resonance and bass response). Smaller cabs, in my playing experience, lend themselves to tighter bass response, and punch. But I love ambient miking, and the sound of an OS has always been fuller, bigger, and more colorful.

Anyway, off for a mini-vacation surfing...catch y'all on the flipside!!

Barely... By this I mean, I rarely "add" FX post recording, and if I do, they are ultra-minimal. Generally speaking, in the sense of this Uberschall's purpose in the studio, it will be 90% of the time "as is", just straight up single/double mic. IF there are any effects, it might be minimal flange/chorus, and some DD, but minimal. Recording is usually done with one close mic (SM57) and one ambient (Rode NT1000), 1 track for each. The Uberschall thus far sounds so good, mucking about with FX is a sin - using ambient/close techniques ought to nail the true tone of her....

Thanks for asking... You've piqued my curiosity as to why you'd ask  I love chatting gear so lay it on me
