New cab day: EVH 4x12. Gojira full mix inside!z.

This cab rules. Big shocker here, it sounds amazing with my 5153 EVH EL34 100 .


These guitars have virtually no post EQ, minus a high and low pass. Some 330hz pulled out about 1db. That’s it.

ESP horizon EMG 57/66
EVH 5153 EL34 100 watt BLUE channel
EVH 4x12
Unidyne SM57/ AA OC18 mix
BAE 1073s

Mammoth bass plugin

Yep, those cabs are great and hands down the best bargain going. Got mine for $375 before the wuhan germ hit. I might like it better than my bogner 4x12
 
I have two and love em.

They’re loaded with Heritage Greenbacks, which are basically Greenbacks with their typical big warm low end and thick mids, but without the papery high end. They’re super great with high gain.

Wow $375 is a steal. Lowest I've seen is $450 and thats a bargain to me. Also, I agree this cab is much punchier and alive sounding than the Uberkab I had.

Picked up one of those cabs a year or so ago to run along with a 1960BX. Love how the high end is smoothed out just a touch.

Dig it. Saw Tim setting up for his most recent show at Time Warp a few weeks ago. I was digging his PRS. Still need to spend some time with one of those.

Also saw the Van Halen guy that showed up late to the ampfest years ago with his VH tribute band Right Now last week. Dude is legit!

Monster amp, the 101B just kills so many of these “new” amps I think, big time. Just a tone monster all the way around.
 
New mix makes the guitars a bit brighter / more mid-forward. It brings out more detail in them for sure, but I think I prefer the first mix. The guitars sound bigger and smoother, and the first mix is more balanced and "even" sounding overall.
