So i picked up a Vht Deliverance 4x12 for the night on loan and had a chance to compare it with the following 4x12 cabs.
I A/B them with my Herbert and VH4 .
Diezel front loaded with Salt n pepper grill and Celestion V30's ( American made cab ) 05
A great sounding cab !
Cornford front loaded also with V 30's and the Salt N pepper grill cloth .Very similar to the Diezel in tone and feel .
and finally the VHT Deliverance also front loaded , but with custom
speakers made by Eminence , and a black grill cloth .
My first thought when I compared the VHT to the others was Holy Hell ...Damn It was faster in it's attack , more clarity , and it actually filled the room with a bigger low end that was fat , yet not boomy at all . I almost didn't sound like it was front loaded ,because it was bigger sounding and filled the room more than the other cab's , but it still was Tight !!!
I could not believe how much meaner it sounded , but still retained a clearer sound . It didn't matter how much gain I added it never got muddy or unclear in anyway. Palm mute Chugga Chugga stuff and alternate picking type riffing cut through and sounded like a Freight train and a sledgehammar combined
I really thought the other cabs which I own sounded good , and they still do , but there is a sonic difference between those and the VHT . I guess I'd say the VHT has a more modern vibe not better , but different for more aggressive playing which I really dig .
The Speakers and grill cloth certainly do make a difference , but the VHT just filled the room with a 3D quality , yet still was so focussed and articulate . I am still blown away .
I think I will have to get one of these cabs , although I wonder how close the VHT Deliverance 4x12 would sound to the new Diezel Cabs with those G12K 100 speakers they are now using as the discription I have heard about them they sound very similar ?
Anyone try both and compare yet ?
Also worth mentioning is I owned 2 of there VHT D cabs a couple years ago and was running them with my VHT Ultralead and CLX that I sold , and thought they sounded good then , but I didn't have the Diezel Herbert and VH4 that i have now .
I feel that they are now at a whole new level !
