Has anyone done a recap job on their early VH4?
Mines 22 years old now , wondering if anyone else has thought about it or what the results are from having new caps?

I have that thought too , it does sound good .
But it seem to lack the same dynamic. punch/ lows seem more muddy , than I remember when it was newer.
,… maybe it’s just me though? , really hard to tell without another one beside it.

If you been sticking on to Steven on his malcontent you could pick up his cap leakage test procedure?

I have a basic understanding of electronics but , no expert here.
Where could I find this procedure?

Recap is welcome expecially if the amp was not played regularly.
Please let an experienced tech do it as a bad job can lead to bigger issue and safety hazards.
It's a very easy job on the right hands.
