Any word yet on the new modded COD that is supposed to sound like a Mark IIC and Mark IV or something like that? I am anxiously awaiting that one. It may replace my EG5.

We have just been so busy we have not had the bench time to figure out how to reduce the noise caused by the increased gain and the natural shit pile of mids with the COD. If we reduce the mids the module loses its singing quality. If we keep the mids where they are it's a bit noisy when taken to higher volume. We are going to resolve it when we get back from vacation!

Hmm...can/should I wait for the mod on mine until this is done? Is this going to be a totally different flavor/character/module, or a "revised" version of the existing module? If the former, I'll go with the mod as expected. If the latter, can I wait for the revisions and get it back after that?

Ya I would rather have your module just wait till we get back.

Enjoy your time off, sounds like you guys deserve it.

Well, I know you already told me mine is waiting until you get back anyway (#2 on Bruce's list once you return), but if you're doing some further tweaking/refining/adjusting of the module that will take a little more time, I'd rather have you keep it a little longer yet (like, if that's going to take another couple/few weeks even after you get back, I'm cool to have you hang on to it until you've got it in "final" form). But if you're talking about creating a whole new beast (like maybe a COD2), then I'd rather get the existing mod done (and maybe get one of the newer modules later). Does that make more sense?

Got it!

So which is it? A revision of the original, or more like a COD2?

EDIT: What's the difference between a revision of the original and COD2? A rose is a rose...

We are trying to make the COD have more gain and have the button on the front panel to scoop out mids and when not engaged take it back to stock. The issue is the gain increase with the stock amount of mids. Right now our plan is to make it a hopped up COD with a mid scoop option....CODII

Sorry guys, I'm not explaining my question very well.

My COD module (which I love) is currently at the shop for the modification that Jeff is talking about (a bit more gain and a mid cut switch), which I understood was going to just be a modded version of the COD module (maybe to eventually replace the original, but still basically a COD, maybe a CODb). I wasn't sure if what richedie was talking about was that mod, or a totally separate module...totally new revision of the COD, like the difference between the SL and the SL2, so that we would end up with two in the lineup, like COD and COD2.

Does that make more sense? Sorry for the confusion!

If it's going to be a totally separate permanent module in the lineup (like SL and SL2), I'll keep the existing one the way it is, and grab a COD2 when they are ready. But it sounds like it's just the modification to the original COD, in which case, I'd like to wait on the mod until you "reduce the noise caused by the increased gain and the natural shit pile of mids with the COD"...however long it takes to do so.

My thoughts exactly, cause I love the COD regular :D

Exactly. A little more gain and (especially) a mid cut switch would be great adjustments to it, but otherwise it's one of my favorites. But a whole 'nother iteration of COD would be awesome too...not sure exactly what it would be/sound like, but all of the Eggie stuff is gold, so I know it would be awesome...

Ya ,totally agree!!!I've had the Mod for quite awhile, and still get a shit eating grin when I fire her up :D Bring on dem modules

I'll definitely be using one of each, regular COD for lead tones and probably the COD II for Mark series style rhythms. I'm loving the COD A channel with a boost in front, wicked cool crunch tone, very Kings X.

I'm looking for a COD where I can us ethe one module for rhythm and lead, incluidng heavy styles.

I may end up grabbing an EG3/4 in the meantime. The MHG sounded awesome until I played with a guy using a Marshall! Now, the EG5 can get close but a darker SL2 and smoother like the EG3/4 is calling me! I want them all.

So how is this (and the + mod on my COD module) coming along? How was your vacation? Did you guys get to relax and enjoy some down time? I sure hope so because it looks like you guys have some full plates. I think I'll have to get me a Rebel real quick now...

I'm pretty sure that this got put on a backburner since they tried to mod the COD to make this work, but aren't getting the results they wanted. I would imagine they'll have to start from scratch w/ it, which will take a bit of time.

That mod sounds incredibly appealing but as a nubcake noob I have enough mods to check out. So take ur time jeff, b4 u guys make me broke :) LOL.

Can somebody tell me why it's called the COD (I'm sure it's pretty obvious but I can't see it right now)
