New Dark Angel track

My first thoughts are: the songwriting is a little uneven, but a couple of the riffs are savage.

it sounds like a real band and the production doesn't suck, so that's a win

They were always somewhat overhyped IMO. Their saving grace was always Hoglan’s super intense drumming but I thought the guitar work and songwriting was under par. It’s just not very memorable. That goes for this new track and the old stuff.

I agree, but i'll also add that I think DA was the peak of Hoglans drumming

I think strapping young lad is wildly overrated and the chuck stuff is great when it hits, but no one seems to remember that most of those albums weren't "spirit crusher"

I like tons of stuff that was written after 1985, just not anything remotely groove or mallcore
