Hello guys, Im new to the forum and a new Diezel owner so Im just introducing myself and saying hi!! Loving my VH4S hands down the best head ive ever played as Im sure we all know.... Thanks Peter you an your crew are absolute geniuses!!!

Anyway my name's Dan and I play in a band that does death metal meets drum n bass music, as well as pretty much anything else in my free time. I really Like the idea of this forum that all us Diezel heads can get together and talk about any experiences and issues we may have with our gear so I thought Id sign up.. HELLO EVERYONE!!!

I have one question that maybe someone could help me with, basically I use the T.C G-System to do both my switching and all my effects through the loop. My problem is I really HATE having to run it through send 1 on my VH4S to use the serial EFX. I dont like what having my signal always going through it does to the tone of the head (to my ears anyway) when I bypass all the G Systems' effects. When I use it with send 2 I have to use the parallel loop (right?) but then I get the unprocessed signal alongside the effected signal which isnt quite what I want either.
What Im really looking for is a way to switch the G system in when I need it in the heads serial loop (for a 100% effected signal) and then when Im just playing an unprocessed sound to just have the straight sound from the Diezel.. Any ideas chaps?? Perhaps Peter, I could get the head modded by yourselves so that send 2 works with the serial loop? Im totally out of ideas guys and this is the only thing thats bothering me with this absolutely incredible amp!!

Safe to everyone!!!

P.S Sorry I didnt add this to the thread about Diezels and G-Systems' it was just a different question than what was on there...

Peace

Dan

Yeah you just make one by turning off all the effects on it but still going through the A-D-A converter is definately doing something I dont like to the tone

Thats exactly the reason why I sold my G-System... when I want a dry sound, there should not be anything that changes the sound of my diezel ;)

Nice one fellas. Super happy with this head man, i CANNOT stop playing it!!!! :D James from Diezel UK just popped round today with a rearloaded Diezel 2x12 for me to try out and Im sold man. It complements the 4x12 perfectly and Im gonna have it by Friday!!

Peter I owe you and all your guys a frosty

P.S If anyone can help me with my VH4S/ G-System problem I mentioned earlier I will love you forever!!

Safe!

Dan

Welcome! Sorry , I cant help you with your question, I also have a VH4S,, but just use two simple pedals, reverb thru the 1 insert and a delay thru the loop, and thats all I need,,sometimes the simplest things make for great sounds.

Hello Dan, welcome aboard!
First thing: you use your G-system with the 4 cable method or is it all in the loop?
-with the 4 cable method is pretty impossible to hard bypass all the G because of the preamp insert connection.
-G has NO true bypass..only preset B9 5 allow to avoid any G effects in the signal chain..but the A/D D/A remains.

What you are describing and searching is a switchable loop the same as the Herbert.. :D..infact parallel loop on VH4/VH4S is swichtable..all fine...
but the G prefers serial loop as you said.
I really dunno if there is a interface or a method to make a normal loop swichtable without modding the loop itself.
Email Peter for this specific problem.
Other idea can be changing fx..Eventide Eclipse has a better bypass.

;)

If you run the parallel loop on the VH4 full wet, doesn't it become a serial loop in essence?

Yeah, you can run it Send 2 with the parallel loop set to full wet. However, the signal is still not 100% wet, even at full it's still a mix. The Herbert has a switchable serial loop, which is awesome. That's one of the only things I don't like about the VH4 - no switchable serial.

The guys here know way more than me about the G-system :D

Guys you all rule for trying to help me out, honestly appreciated man. I guess I just may have to try switching my effects unit which is a shame because Ive got some great sounds out of the G-System, but I guess Eventide dont really mess about with their stuff and the eclipse looks like a serious unit... You know I tried the Herbert straight after I first played the VH4 and both myself and James the Diezel rep both thought that the VH4 was working better with my (bad) way of playing... If only I looked into the loops before

Oh well it is still the best sounding amp Ive ever played and the effects are only the proverbial icing on the finest cake ever!!!

Peter, dont wanna mess about with your creation BUT... if there is ever a way of making the VH4's serial loop switchable via send 2 then I will send my amp and a crate of fine ale to you and the guys in an instant!!!

Again much love to all for your greetings, suggestions and help

PEACE!!!
Dan
