I bought my first Diezel amp this weekend (Friday) from Chuck Levin's! I drove up early Friday morning to beat the snow storm and was one of the only people in the amp section of the store for a long time. This was great as it gave me a couple of hours to just test drive and compare both the Herbert and VH4 floor models. I'd read a lot of forum threads comparing the 2 amps and listened to several posted recordings, but it was really nice being able to just spend some time comparing them side by side.
When I began considering purchasing a Diezel I was more interested in a VH4. After a lot of online research though I decided a Herbert may be a better fit for me. Sure enough, I found myself a little more drawn to the Herbert in the store too. Unfortunately there was a problem with the floor model as the 3rd channel started popping and clicking after a half hour of play. Pretty soon the other 2 channels joined in and they brought out a new unit. There were a couple of points when I thought I was going for the VH4 but I ended up going with the Herbert!
My Mesa is cowering behind it in the picture, since I haven't gotten a case to fit the Diezel yet.
