My Egnater Tweaker 15 head is scheduled for delivery tomorrow, Jan 31!

This will be my first all-tube amp, after being a guitar player for 20+ years. Very excited!

My previous amps have been a couple of Crate solid state amps (owned prior to taking a fairly long hiatus from playing guitar), then a Vox VT40+.

The VT40+ is by and large a great amp for the price, but I'm ready for an all tube amp with similar versatility. Enter the TWEAKER.

I can't wait. It's like Christmas.

So it arrived!

I'm plugging in to a 112 cab loaded with an Eminence Texas Heat.

I've only had a few hours with her but all I can say so far is WOW! The clean headroom is amazing. So this is a LOUD little amp. The Texas Heat is also a very efficient speaker so that surely contributes to the volume. Glad to have a master volume for practice levels.

I love how reactive the amp is to pick dynamics. It's so much more punchy than my old Vox VT40+ that I'm going to have to get used to really adjusting my pick attack, even on fairly low volume settings.

Tone wise the cleans on all tone stacks (USA, AC, Brit) sound very different and all are very useful. The AC clean is a brilliant emulation of a VOX.

I haven't had a chance to really get the amp dirty. The farthest I've pushed it is to a nice bluessy crunch on the USA setting and a great 70s rock tone on the Brit. There's a clean/hot switch that engages a 9db boost that pushes the preamp into overdrive. It's not foot switchable but I've found a good boost pedal will do the same.

All in all I'm very very happy.

Congratulations on your new amp - now turn that bad boy up and get the power tubes working :D
