New for 2025 - PRS Custom 24 Standard

Man I’m a sucker for a satin all mahogany body. I’m really loving the way these new Standard models are looking. I might do a pre-order but might wait until they are in the wild. Loving the black but they all look cool.

It’s basically a Custom 24 but with no flame Maple top, just a one piece mahogany body with a nitro satin finish. New pickups this year too.
List $3,500 new pre-order price…might wait to find a used one cheaper later.

TBH it looks boring to me. I did not catch the title and thought this was one of their import models at $600, and even then, I was thinking they saved some cash on the top, etc. Wow. No way at $3500.
 
God knows I'm not here to defend PRS prices, but it is $1,240 cheaper than the same model with a flame maple top. I think waiting until these are in the wild and getting a used one may be the way to go.

It looks like they axed the McCarty 594 Singlecut from their core line?? I thought that was the coolest PRS that they made.

Wow, I didn't notice that but checking their 2025 new products page it's not there. I wonder if that means they are not making them or there are just no new model updates for 2025 but they will still make them?

If I look at Sweetwater pre-order, they do have a single cut 594 that can be pre-ordered. So a head scratcher...

Oof. So these are almost 5k new with the maple top? PRS has always been on the upper end of things but that feels steep.

Maybe they're releasing a new 2025 version at NAMM and it's not on the website yet?
 
I really like the red one. I definitely want to wait and grab a used one at that price point.

My DGT standard is noticeable fuller sounding with the full thickness mahogany body compared to my other DGT with a maple cap. My ears much prefer the standard.

I'm interested in one of the red ones at some point down the road. Looks cool AF. The price on these is pretty steep, though.
